Honda P50
The Honda P50 called “Little Honda” was sold in 1967-68. It was available in two colors: Scarlet Red and Sky Blue. The fenders were Ivory White plastic. The engine, a 49cc OHC single cylinder four-stroke, was mounted to the rear wheel. It had automatic transmission and pedal start. The serial number began P50-100001.
Honda PC50 “Little Honda”
The Honda PC50 “Little Honda” was sold from 1969 to 1970. The serial number began PC50-1060413. It came in two available colors: Bright Red and Sky Blue. The fuel tank, front cowl, handlebar grips, and levers were white. The fuel tank stripes were red and blue. The engine was slung under the frame instead of being mounted to the rear wheel. The engine was a 49cc OHC single cylinder four-stroke. It had automatic transmission and pedal start.
Honda PA50
Two models of the Honda PA50 Moped were offered in 1978. One was limited to 20 mph (32 kph) and designated with a single letter “I” (e.g., PA50I) and was available in red; the other was limited to 30 mph (48 kph) and designated by a double letter “I” (e.g., PA50II) and was available in yellow. In both models, the fuel tank and shocks were white, but the drive belt cover was gray. There was no battery. The ignition used breaker points. The engine was a two-stoke single cylinder displacing 49cc. The engine was lubricated by pre-mixing the fuel and two-stroke oil. It also had an automatic transmission. The serial number began PA50M-1100001 (for the PA50I) and PA50-1200001 (for the PA50II).
Honda PA50I
Two models of the Honda Moped were offered in 1979. One was limited to 20 mph (32 kph) and designated with a single letter “I” (e.g., PA50I) and was available in red; the other was limited to 30 mph (48 kph) and designated by a double letter “I” (e.g., PA50II) and was available in yellow. In both models, the fuel tank and shocks were no longer white, but now were colored the same as the body and had black stripes. Also the drive belt cover was black. The seat was longer than in 1978. There was still no battery. The ignition used breaker points. The engine was a two-stoke single cylinder displacing 49cc. The engine was lubricated by pre-mixing the fuel and two-stroke oil. It also had an automatic transmission. The serial number began PA50M-2100001 (for the PA50I) and PA50-2200001 (for the PA50II).
Honda Pa50II
In 1980 the 20 mph (32 kph) model was dropped leaving only the 30 mph (48 kph) model which was designated by a double letter “I” (e.g., PA50II) and was still available in yellow. The fuel tank and shocks were colored the same as the body and had brown stripes. Also the drive belt cover was black. The seat was longer than in 1978. There was still no battery. The ignition used breaker points. The engine was a two-stoke single cylinder displacing 49cc. The engine was lubricated by pre-mixing the fuel and two-stroke oil. It also had an automatic transmission. The serial number began PA50-3200001.
Honda PA50II’81
In 1981 the PA50II’81 color was finally changed from yellow to Red. The fuel tank stripe was now chrome. A battery was now standard equipment. The ignition replaced the breaker points in favor of a CD ignition. The engine was a two-stoke single cylinder displacing 49cc. The engine was lubricated by pre-mixing the fuel and two-stroke oil. It also had an automatic transmission. The serial number began YC1AB0900BB100001.
Honda PA50II’82
In 1982 the PA50II’82 color was changed from red to Coral Red. The fuel tank stripe was now orange/red. A battery was now standard equipment. The ignition had a CD ignition. The engine was a two-stoke single cylinder displacing 49cc. The engine was lubricated by pre-mixing the fuel and two-stroke oil. It also had an automatic transmission. The serial number began YC1AB0905CB200001.
Honda PA50’83
In 1983 the PA50’83 color was changed from Coral Red to Black or White. The fuel tank stripe was now red/silver. A battery was now standard equipment. The ignition had a CD ignition. The engine was a two-stoke single cylinder displacing 49cc. The engine was lubricated by pre-mixing the fuel and two-stroke oil. It also had an automatic transmission. The serial number began YC1AB090XDB300001.
